Time to Run is an energetic American Rock tune built around a rapid-fire, finger-style guitar melody. It incorporates punchy bursts of falsetto vocals during the verses, while the smooth and catchy choruses pull the song back into order. The quickness of the guitar licks give an impending sense of urgency that culminates in a slow and powerful chorus breakdown at the end of the song. The rockabilly solo that traverses the middle echoes the classic twang of early bluegrass and country-blues guitar playing.
